We use QR codes a lot for our charities. Donations, event tickets, etc. very useful, but never in a video.

@LuFins-Dad said in Hey Jolly, tell me again about Maason Smith: @Jolly said in Hey Jolly, tell me again about Maason Smith: High risk, high reward. Kid is from South Louisiana and was a highly-touted high school All-America. Decent freshman season, but was hurt and didn't play in all the games. First rattle out of the box in 2022 against Florida State, he messed up a knee and was lost or the year. He played last year, but I don't think he had the same quickness. IF you can get the same quickness as the kid showed before going down in '22, I think he can play in the NFL. Quickness is nice, but at his size can he move people? That’s key for this position… He's not gonna play NT, that's for sure. I'm not sure bow well he will do on double-teams, as he plays a little tall. On the plus side, he's 300+ pounds and ran around a five flat 40 recently. He's also pretty strong. I've not heard anything bad on the kid, other than getting suspended for a bit...He had an autograph session before the NIL rules went into effect. The Steeler coaches can evaluate defensive talent, they've shown that historically. He might be depth for them and they hope they get more.

I'm very much looking forward to political yard sign season. I think it could get volatile around here.

This is the purpose of SCOTUS. It's definitely a Constitutional Question that begs better clarification.

@xenon said in I'm sure they have nothing better to do.: Growing up - half of my interactions with my cousins may have qualified as hate crimes. So many attacks on each others' identities. LOL, I was thinking something similar… My entire family and my old HS lunch table would be in jail if we lived in Scotland…

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Sokka is one of my favorite characters in any show, ever.

Or it can be from a bad vein valve or two. I have May-Thurner, which in my mind I always confuse the term with May-Hegglin.

@George-K said in Truth: @Mik said in Truth: I read the Gulag Archipelago in 85. Yeah, when I read "One Day..." I didn't appreciate the political overtones of the book. I must've been 14- 16 or so. Great minds are alike. :couple_with_heart: I read that book also. From what I remember, I thought it was quite good.

Those of us who follow LSU women's basketball know the anthem controversy is just hogwash. LSU goes to the locker room same time, every time. Mulkey does not vary. Clark is a good player and she had a good game. Congrats to her. As good as she is, she probably couldn't start on a really good high school boy's team.

Putin said that the warnings that the US sent about a possible terrorist attack were not specific. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/04/02/us-warning-russia-isis-crocus/?utm_campaign=wp_for_you&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_personalizedforyou&utm_content=readinghistory__position2 More than two weeks before terrorists staged a bloody attack in the suburbs of Moscow, the U.S. government told Russian officials that Crocus City Hall, a popular concert venue, was a potential target, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter. The high degree of specificity conveyed in the warning underscores Washington’s confidence that the Islamic State was preparing an attack that threatened large numbers of civilians, and it directly contradicts Moscow’s claims that the U.S. warnings were too general to help preempt the assault. The U.S. identification of the Crocus concert hall as a potential target — a fact that has not been previously reported — raises new questions about why Russian authorities failed to take stronger measures to protect the venue, where gunmen killed more than 140 people and set fire to the building. A branch of the Islamic State has taken credit for the attack, the deadliest in Russia in 20 years. U.S. officials have publicly said the group, known as Islamic State-Khorasan, or ISIS-K, “bears sole responsibility,” but Russian President Vladimir Putin has tried to pin the blame on Ukraine. The attack has further dented the image of strength and security that the Russian leader seeks to convey and exposed fundamental weaknesses in the nation’s security apparatus, which has been consumed by more than two years of war in Ukraine. Domestically, Putin’s operatives appear more concerned with silencing political dissent and opposition to the president than rooting out terrorist plots, according to analysts and observers of Russian politics. The Russian leader himself publicly dismissed U.S. warnings just three days before the March 22 attack, calling them “outright blackmail” and attempts to “intimidate and destabilize our society.”
